How will it taste?

Delicious! We ultrasound our herd prior to butchering to ensure you only receive high choice or prime grade meat. You won’t be disappointed! We have over 100 years experience raising nothing but beef – it’s all we do!

 What about hormones and antibiotics?

All our our animals are hormone and steroid-free.

We do not routinely feed or administer antibiotics of any kind to our animals. However their well-being comes first, and on the rare occasion an animal becomes sick (usually a calf), we will administer a dose. Anything more serious, and the animal is removed from our program. Additionally, if they require medication for any reason in the last three months prior to butchering, they are also removed from our program.

Do you grass or grain-finish?

The answer to this is truly what sets us apart from other ranches!

Our cattle spend the first 18-24 months of their lives grazing our thousands of acres. Just before heading to the butcher, we ‘ranch-finish’ by offering them a homegrown blend of hay, corn, silage, beets, and spent grains from local Colorado breweries!

Grain is good thing for cattle when fed the correct way. Even most grasses are considered grains! When fed properly (not in a feedlot), it can be healthy and tasty addition to their diet, providing enhanced marbling and incredible flavor. Our top chefs and professional athletes would agree! From a nutrition stand point, research also shows grain-finished beef contains slightly higher levels of protein and essential minerals.

While we are deeply committed to the health of our herd and the sustainability of our land, we also want you to enjoy great tasting beef!

How will my beef be processed?

For 1/4 share and larger orders, you may chose to customize your order at no additional charge. One month prior to delivery, we will ask you to complete our custom processing form which allows you to select the amount of ground beef, thickness of your steaks, and how you would like you beef packaged (vacuum or paper-wrapped). Don’t worry, we will walk you through the process!

What about the odds n’ ends?

If you have specials requests for bones, oxtails, livers, hearts, etc. (otherwise known as the odds n’ ends!), we are happy to accommodate your request. Just drop us an email and we’ll see how we can help!

How will I get my beef?

Depending on your location, you have two options: You may pick the beef up directly from our butcher located in Fort Collins, CO, or you may come to one of our pick-up points located along the Front Range. If you require special accommodations, home delivery may be arranged as well.
